RavenSystem Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 Hi everyone, I want to share a web with all planes and vehicles specifications with multi-language support (English, Spanish, Russian, German, French and Chinese). All data has been taken directly from game files. I will try to keep it up to date. https://ravensystem.github.io/il2_specs/ Cheers! 4 13 Quote
Suren Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 Looks nice and tidy, thanksI A suggestion: since the list of planes is now quite extensive, it would be useful to have a drop down menu or a search function to be able to navigate quickly to the desired plane. Otherwise it would be a lot of scrolling to get a Yak for example. Quote

FeuerFliegen Posted December 11, 2025 Posted December 11, 2025 Mods, can we get this thread pinned? It is something I come back to frequently. 1 Quote
Avimimus Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I'm finding it very interesting to just scroll down the page comparing the tailplanes of all of the aircraft (and other details)! One really gets a sense of the diversity of engineering during the war. Unfortunately the aspect ratios are off for some aircraft though! Quote

I get the images directly from the game data, without any modification from my side. I use "preview2.png" files, that are bigger than "preview.png" files. However, there are some of them with a bad aspect ratio. For example, Albatros D.V: Quote
Avimimus Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I suppose one could use the aspect ratios from the 'preview.png' files to figure out how much to reduce the height of the 'preview2.png' files? That way the aspect ratio could be corrected without changing the widths of the files. If you're interested and would like help with that - I might be able to put in the labour. Quote

All the files have the same sizes. I mean, all "preview2.png" files are 1024x512, and all "preview.png" are 512x256. However, I am measuring the aspect ratio of the wheels of some wrong images, and resizing them to 1024x426 could be a good solution. Then, I must apply the resize command only to the wrong images. Quote
Avimimus Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Ah, interesting! So that means the amount of blank space/padding must be different (as the aspect ratios are the same). What I'd probably due is use the F12 'measuring' tool in Irfanview to measure the length of the aircraft in the smaller image with the correct aspect ratio, and then double that length. Then measure the difference with the large image, take the fraction, and apply the correction. That is quite a bit of trouble though! If the 1024x426 solution seems to work it might be worth a try. 🙂 Quote
RavenSystem Posted January 28 Author Posted January 28 I am going to check the 426 value measuring the aspect ratio of the smaller image. I think these are the planes that would need the aspect ratio correction: - albatrosd5 - fokkerd7 - fokkerd7f - fokkerdr1 - fw190d9 - p47d28 - pfalzd3a - se5a - sopcamel - sopdolphin - spad13 - u2vs Let me know if there is anyone more. 1 Quote

The ROF Cockpit images are incomplete in comparison to FC. Flying Circus offers in some cases more complex cockpit management in opposite to ROF. I not checked all but just for example the picture of the Breguet 14 didn’t shows the mixture leveller or the little pitch trim wheel on the flight stick. Both can be operated in Flying Circus. Quote

I know it, but there is not a Flying Circus manual with cockpit images. RoF images are what we have. In addition, you have the @Charlo's pilots notes with all the needed information to manage the plane. If you know about better cockpits images, please, tell me and I will try to get permission from the author to include them. Thanks! 1 Quote

Thank you @RavenSystem The only slight concern in my opinion is a chance of the web page getting shut down (be it if Raven loses interest or for some other reason) Quote

The web is generated automatically from GitHub pages using this script: https://github.com/RavenSystem/il2_specs/blob/main/il2_compose.sh Only takes 2 minutes to update its content.
