GiftGruen Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 That's great. PreOrdered Founder edition 🙂 Sure - I am somewhat frustrated about missing progress especially in Flying Circus. But nevertheless I am very thankful for this Sim and the joy I have. So supporting the Dev team is a good thing. Quote
Artfactial Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 I was considering waiting for Steam confirmation or direct pre-order. But then it dawned on me that I haven't used Steam as a launcher platform for a very long time. Playnite combines all the different launchers and platforms so that side has no real issue for me. Got the Founder Edition and am super giddy.🖤 Quote
Talisman Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 Founders edition for me. Happy landings, Talisman Quote

I thought the F4U was in the initial release plane-set? Am I wrong or what changed? I can't promise anything, as nothing has been officially stated. However, they have previously stated that both the F4U-4 and the F9F-2 are being modelled. Neither are in the official Korea package. They've also stated that they are working on carriers, have shown a screenshot with a carrier in it, and the DLC has a special feature. So I'm almost certain that they originally planned for the F4U-4 and F9F-2 to be included with only those squadrons that operated off of land-based airstrips. They probably decided to model carriers for Korea after this plan was made (perhaps adding carrier technology to the game engine made progress faster than expected, but that is pure speculation). Now that carriers are planned to come sooner - they've decided to move the carrier aircraft to a carrier DLC. Based on hints by the devs - I'm pretty sure what two of the other carrier aircraft are, but I have no idea about the fifth. So - so far as I can tell - they have never officially confirmed the F4U or F9F would be part of the base game. In fact, the first official list of aircraft was included on the store page when it went up for sale. So it was always possible that they would be Collector Aircraft or part of an expansion. 3 1 Quote

Dash,Polder Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 All you can do is go on their past record and what kind of reputation and impression they've left upon you. I can't say they've ever left me holding the bag, and my impression is they really try pushing the envelope, sometimes not always in the direction I would have preffered like the tanks and ground stuff, but overall it has improved the ground war mechanics, and I certainly can't whine about that. I'm extremely confident these guys are going to push as hard as humanly possible and it's obvious to my eye they take real pride in and enjoy their work. I can't ask for more than that, the best thing for my hobby. 3 Quote
Legioneod Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 Hopefully support with continue past the 1 year DLC. I don't think it would take much more to create a fully realized Korean War scenario. You already have the bulk of the aircraft imo. Just need a few more like the Skyraider, Corsair, and F9F while adding a few Helicopters alongside. Quote
Nictmere Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 Man after all this waiting they pop us with psychological sy ops unt, monie-fair: $179.99 $139.99 Founders edition or $99.99 $79.99 Standard edition (wow thanks). So much for being a long time loyal customer, some dignity please leave out the fish hook. I do however look forward to this new edition to IL-2, been playing since Forgotten Battles. I just hope they do not abandon this project like Cliffs of Dover, I think it has potential so I am in. 🤑 Quote
FilMit Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 To be honest, I'm not interested in Korea personally. It's the conflict itself. However, I'm purchasing the "Founder's Pack" solely to support the developers. I also bought the tanks, although I still don't understand why they're included in the flight simulator. I'll continue to purchase their products because they offer a high-quality simulation experience. I hope that the Eastern Front will continue to develop. I aspire to fly a La-7 over the Reichstag in May 1945. Quote

That said, Cliffs of Dover represented a massive attempt to improve multiple aspects of a game engine (rather than make small incremental improvements), and in that way Korea is similar - it is very ambitious. That said, while the first Pacific product might be scaled back a bit if Korea doesn't sell as well as hoped, it might be expanded if Korea sells better than hoped, but I doubt the series would be abandoned entirely. Thank you for writing in Russian. Are you Russian? To be honest, I didn’t want to mention this episode; it may not be pleasant for our allies in this war. Yes, something like that, and shoot down the 262nd so that the allies will confuse me with FW. And fight them, and emerge victorious. As it should be for an Russian pilot. But the main thing is to fly over the Reichstag, this is the main thing! As for Tracker, well, you can find out about the application itself, there is an update for the included games, in the list. But, personally, my humble recommendation is to buy an inexpensive virtual reality helmet, which I did just last May. Only one helmet, without manipulators, for 20,000 rubles, On Avito, absolutely new. I bought one more camera used for 10,000, Total 30 tr, and full-fledged VR. The old tracker was kept until the last, for the simulator track. Until the wires are completely dry. All the best to you! Edited November 30, 2025 by FilMit Eng 1 Quote

Not sure on that; too early to say. Please make that a big announcement once you know. I won't pre-order before this is confirmed. I don't want yet another launcher, I also want the benefits of Steam (tracking playtime, quick access to discussion forums etc.), so a Steam key is a must-have for me. 2 Quote

I held off on purchasing it for a while - but when I got Tank Crew I really enjoyed learning the strengths and weaknesses of enemy tanks. Regardless of what some people say, the damage models are very good. I also had experiences like temporarily cutting the engine for a moment while buttoned-out to listen for enemy tanks when in dense forest, and find their rough direction (and then reading about people doing that later). 1 Quote

IckyAtlas Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 (edited) I just saw on YouTube the presentation about Korea and the pre-order launch. I am propeller guy and not much welding torch guy. I was skeptical to buy it at first (I tried DCS but did not like it at all even if as a sim for modern jets it is very high quality) when it was announced a year ago or so. The reason is that for me jets means mainly guided missiles and all the modern paraphernalia of very high tech which makes of a pilot basically a guy in an office looking at screens and pushing buttons and shoot down an enemy without even seeing it. I am old school with close combat gunnery, that is sending lead to my opponents. In this video he points a very valid point. It is maybe the only conflict which has still gunnery as the tool to shoot down enemy planes. Missiles just started, and so technology was at a transition. I may like that. We still have some WWII era planes. We have the B29 4 engine bomber, the P51 etc. In Korea the Corsair saw combat and carrier operations. Maybe we will get to that during the game history. These are the main selling points. Then as a cherry on the cake I can try fighting between the first Mig and Sabre. Speeds could be too high for me used to slower planes. Anyway conclusion buy or not buy? After a few nanoseconds I took the Founder Edition. What else? Edited November 30, 2025 by IckyAtlas 3 Quote

If you want, jets only need to be a bonus... the cherry on the cake as you put it 😉 I would be surprised if someone doesn't create a piston-only server. Quote
