MontyThrud Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Building a single mission in TC Prokhorovka, off road AI Player Tanks mass battle 60+ Russian Tanks KV1s/Shermans/T34s/Churchills moving across country off-road Line Formation, Player currently in KV1s front line which does 3-4 mph off-road(AI std. set speed), as player you can tell your Tank Company to speed up or slow down but the AI (players) Tanks following do not keep up, I'm trying to get the 60+ Tanks to move en-masse together at a reasonable speed so player doesn't get bored at 3-4mph, T34s are the fastest but move at the speed a Player would prefer (I think its about 11 or so mph)...Question... is there a way to get the AI(player) Tanks following to move at the same speed across country off-Road as the Players Tank if say 11-12mph or so? Fastest first under AI control German Tanks Russian Tank Tiger T34 Panther V SU122 Panzer IV, StuG Sherman Panzer III SU152 Ferdinand Churchill Trying to get these to move over distance together is difficult and at the moment I'm using different start times for the T34s, I'm sure the Speeds used to be controlled by the waypoint MCU speed(in properties), as you can with Aircraft. Thanks in advance.
Jaegermeister Posted March 25 Posted March 25 To begin with, complex vehicles (the ones you can pilot if available, which is what you are working with) are limited to about 30 vehicles active at the same time in a mission or you get significant time dilation. That means your vehicle AI will be reacting in slow motion for the whole mission. Complex tanks are the same as complex airplanes in that respect. In addition, tanks vary their speed according to how they may be delayed by reacting to threats. They slow down and/ or stop to track a target and fire at enemy vehicles. The more variables and vehicles you have in your mission, the more random it will become. Similar to planes, each type of vehicle will have a set cruise speed they like to maintain, and even if you exceed that speed with waypoint settings, they will only go their max coded speed. You would have to reduce the faster vehicles to the speeds of the slower ones to keep them together, or stagger the start times as you mentioned. If you are looking for a way to get around that, I don’t think there is one.
