How to Run in VR

I have bought IL2 GB - Stalingrad and Tank Crew both on the website. Now I'd like to run it on my Meta Quest 3S device. I have linked my meta quest device to the meta air link app and it works fine. Whenever I try to run IL2 (It doesn't show up on the airlink list) in VR mode, steamVR opens up and doesn't load anything.

When I open the Steam VR menu it shows  "playing ... app" which I believe just means it doesn't know what app I'm trying to play because my IL2 is not on steam. How can I run IL2 in VR without having it on steam? Can someone help me with some kind of guide or step by step list? 

I know theres other apps like OpenXR but from what I'v searched around those are more obsolete now?

IL-2 doesn't support openxr directly, so you need to inject it with a modified openvr_api.dll that will enable it.

Grab the 64 bit version under 'Per-game installation' if your on Win 11.  Replace the stock one in your bin/game folder, same folder the IL-2.exe resides in.

Than it'll fire up.

Don't forget to save the original openvr_api.dll in case you need to revert back.
