Size of IL-2 storage?

In recommended settings storage requirements are given as 90Gb. However when the game's installed it's almost 150Gb. There's 50Gb are in a folder labelled "Copies". So why are these added to bloat the game size?

Where is the "copies" folder?

My IL2 folder is 117 GB.

(includes 2GB screenshots + 21 GB tracks (recordings), so game itself is 94GB)

That's nothing, DCS with all modules has about 1.4 TB 😉
