dannytherat Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Good morning all, Following the fantastic news that the Allied bombers are going to become playable, I started thinking about tour lengths for the bombers. It's well known that RAF Bomber Command and the 8th Air Force used standard numbers of operations to define their bombers' tour lengths, but was a similar approach followed by the RAF's Second Tactical Air Force and the US 9th Air Force, or did they define tour length in terms of flying hours? Either way, what were the numbers of ops or flying hours that constituted a completed tour in 2TAF and the 9th AF? Will this be reflected in sim? For myself I would be content if it wasn't, as it could be frustrating to get to the point where you have really got your teeth into a career only to have it end because your tour is over. 1
Lusekofte Posted March 17 Posted March 17 It was counted as a mission when you actually entered hostile skies. On occasion a airplane returned due to technical problems before getting in harms way it did not count. first it was for US bombers 25 missions. Some did their tour in 3 months many as you know never got there Anyways they increased it to 30 when missions was concidered «safer» I have not countered such a barrier yet 1
