Dihedral Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Hi All! I have a newbie question. Has elevator trim been modelled in the aircraft of 1917/18? I see the trim wheel in the SE5 cockpit for example but when I allocate elevator trim to my joystick nothing happens! Thanks for reading!
FlyingShark Posted March 7 Posted March 7 (edited) Elevator trim has been modelled for planes that had it in real life. Also know that there's a difference between elevator trim and stabilizer trim (like on the Se5a and the later BF109's), it's the same principle but the whole stabilizer moves instead of just some trim tabs like on other planes. You can however use the same control input for both but you need to separately assign the controls in the plane control section. So, for the Se5a, look for "stabilizer trim" instead of "elevator trim" in the controls section. Hope this helps. Have a nice day. 🫡 Edited March 7 by FlyingShark
kraut1 Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Some, but not all of the WW1 planes without trim axis have the tendency to climb exessivly with full power / at high speed. In this case you could adjust a bit the pitch axis downwards. I do this for example with the Pfalz DIII: (this is just an example, try out what's the best setting for you)
