Increase game speed + pilot log

I just want to ask a suggestion, would it be possible to increase the game speed to 16x, 32x and 64x? It would be good for long distances and especially for WW I aircraft.

I also want to ask why the pilot log is missing in Career, where the date of the plane being shot down, the type of plane, the time and place would be listed. I'm sorry that it's missing there. Thank you B.

Possible? No. Not without rewriting the code entirely, and then upping the minimum hardware requirements very significantly. Quite simply the faster the game has to run, the more CPU resources it needs, and there isn't any short-cut way around this.

Hopefully the updated code for Korea onwards will address this to some extent (multithreading should help, but it isn't a panacea) , but it will always be subject to constraints. You can't simulate things without CPU power, and the faster you do it, the more you need. This applies whether you are Boeing modelling airflow over an airliner, or Buff0002 running IL-2 GB at home. If it didn't, it would no doubt make both you and Boing happy, and save quite a few bucks is hardware and electricity...

Well - it's true that the actual implementation which fully simulates the game ( including all planes ) also during accelerated mode, will not be able to offer x16 or x32. In fact, even my quite beefy PC, sometimes has problems to even achieve x2.

On the other hand, Buffo002 is right: Especially FC-missions can be quite boring, long long flights until something happens. Maybe a 'proceed to waypoint'-feature with only partial simulation of 'plane physics' could help here. But .. yes, this would need a rewriting of a lot of code and will not happen in FC or GB. I assume that especially casual players are driven away from FC/GB because they want to have more action, so also from a business point of view I dont understand at al that there is no solution for this.

The second thing - a real pilots log - I also will never understand that this is missing. Such an easy thing. Pat Wilsons Campaign generator offers it, if I remember correctly. It's a shame that this atomsphere-creating feature is missing in standard FC ( and GB ).

At least for the scripted campaigns we have now after many years a real Logbook with promotions and awards and selectable languages.

Rise of Flight had 16x speed and I do greatly miss it when sitting in a WWI crate where a single kilometer takes 12 or more seconds of IRL time at the maximum 8x speed. I love WWI planes and the details of the map but the required time investment builds a sense of tedium when outside of combat

I understand it would be difficult for player's hardware on WWII planes but I would love to be able to get more done in FC flights. Hopefully the "proceed to waypoint" feature comes to IL-2 and specifically FC

What you suggest is good, no question!
But in earlier discussions about similar suggestions the developers have explaint to us that the game engine works in a way that always, even with activated time acceleration, all details are simulated without any simplification.
This is the reason why you will have in reality mostly instead of the theoretical 8x acceleration only ca. 2x to 4x acceleration.
You can optimize the real time acceleration by reducing the number of objects in a mission and you can try to use short-range missions with minimized distances to target and back.
This is the reason why I use mostly EMG by Vander for campaign mission generation because with this tool I can create without any problems missions that take ca. 10...40 minutes from take off to landing without time acceleration (WW2 missions). For WW1 missions this should be possible too (with shorter distances of course), and the slower climbing speeds have to be considered too...
