Similar as in IL-2 1946: There was the Gulf of Finland map used to simulate BoB, for example in Paul Lowengrin's IL2DCG...

I remember. I got that feeling too. And before that, Laggs were used as Spitfires in old Il2. M

@Kraut. if you ever edit this again, it would great to have Immola airfield and also Utti Airfield. They are still very important to FAF. Attacment Kulmey flew from Immola during summer 1944. The small airfield in Tytärsaari in Finnish Gulf also would be great. I understand that that you have other more importan things ATM. i enjoy Karelia EMG as it is.

I will add at least some further content when I am back in Germany.

In some locations it could be easy, in many locations it is difficult and time consuming due to the lack of free space for target object definitions...

News 12.04.2026: Preliminary and working Draft of Gulf of Finland front with 3 airfields , new Utti

-small update with airfield Utti

-Utti is suitable for big squadrons, tested from runway 12xJu88 + 12x BF109G2
-for mission design / Soviet attacks in this area: attack either Utti airfield or select Fuel Dump (I have placed an objective few km east of Kouvola/directly in Kouvola targets were not recognized)
-due to lack of time progress is slow... / because of this I will continue only with the 43 static front...(variant of static 42 front maybe possible later) , next airfield Seiskari on the very small Island (if it works)

1942 in Finnish front is almost the same than in 1943. Only the 1941 and 1944 did have moving front. Southern part of map is a different story. I tested latest version. Likei it a lot.. it is so different feeling to fly over my own country. Specially when enemy bombers are bombing towns. I usuallu use custom planes with early planeset. Me-109G2, Hurricanes for Finns. Mig1, Spitfire 1-15 and 1-16 for USSR. I also use Lagg 3 as a Morane Saulnier.
