Enceladus828 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Are there any community made WACO glider missions focusing on the resupply missions in Normandy after D-Day, as well as their use in Operation Market Garden and Varisty? Matthew 6:21, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Not that I know of. I wish. There was a selection of missions for the Waco in the old forum, but I remember them being extremely demanding on my computer, to the point I could not play them on my reasonable system.
JollyJack Posted Saturday at 01:58 PM Posted Saturday at 01:58 PM (edited) Nothing to do with D Day or Market Garden. Was meant to test your skills in landing a Waco manually near the Notre Dame, long before it got burned. You'll need the Westernfront Map from Flying Circus 4 for Paris, https://www.mediafire.com/file/32xz9da7zj33mu5/Sous_le_Ciel_de_Paris_v6.zip/file PS the UPS skins are on Haluter's. Vendigo Posted Saturday at 02:11 PM Posted Saturday at 02:11 PM Probably will take me forever, but lately I have been curious about WACO, so I have already made 4 missions of the future WACO campaign (pre-invasion training sorties so far), I plan to make 8 or 9 missions in total.. 1 1 My single player campaigns: "Fortress Stalingrad" "Hunter in the snow" "Battlefield Kerch" "Ruspoli at the gates of Odesa"
JollyJack Posted yesterday at 09:36 AM Posted yesterday at 09:36 AM Hi Vendigo ... setting up a waco with a c74 the distance and height (airstart) is crucial to make it work. Spent hours figuring it out ...

But after you figure it out once, you just copy/paste as many C47+glider couplings as you need! 1 My single player campaigns: "Fortress Stalingrad" "Hunter in the snow" "Battlefield Kerch" "Ruspoli at the gates of Odesa"

Very good! I got to try a mission a very talented person made with the Waco, and had a lot of fun with it. That never ended up as a campaign, and I've been hoping for someone to do something like it ever since. I have myself been thinking of a short campaign, training in England - D-Day - Market Garden and Varsity. But it never came to fruition.

Actually, your list of missions is just what I am going to do; btw I plan to add a second mission at around D-Day+3 (as the US glider pilots were evacuated back to England and some of them participated in resupply missions again very soon, just a couple days after the D-Day), and also I want to add the ammo delivery to beseiged Bastogne.. A comunity member that prefears not to be named, but has a very good talent with the editor, sometimes let me try his missions. He made a waco mission that was very impressive, especially how he managed to make it so that the infa try model spawned out of the waco during the landing. Looked really impressive. 1 hour ago, Vendigo said: btw I plan to add a second mission at around D-Day+3 (as the US glider pilots were evacuated back to England and some of them participated in resupply missions again very soon Yes, this is also portraid in a list of missions made for the waco earlier, published in the old forum. Iv played them, good but the missions are barley playable on my computer. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/87957-by-pappy2-2-air-operations-of-the-ixth-troop-carrier-command-from-june-10-to-13-1944/ Edited 7 minutes ago by sandmarken
