Just moving on over from DCS to  IL2. Main reason I'm ditching DCS is that their servers matches last for days before you see a victory , which due to real life I don't have time nor incentive to join them. Warthunder I enjoyed becuase thier mp matches ending with a victory could be as little as 20minutes. But I did not enjoy the simplistic flight dynamics and arcadey general feel of that game.

So now I am trying IL2 and would like to know if there are servers that have quick full strategic matches/campaigns with objectives etc (not just dogfights alone), similar to warthunder, and lasting an hour or so ?

Hi!

It all depends on mission design, but in the MP community you have long lasting campaigns (Frontline, TAW, Apollo from Combat Box) and then missions that run for a few hours before you see one of the two sides completing the mission.

Please, take a look at some of the servers and Discords so you find more information!

I personally Recommend Combat Box, which runs both Missions and Campaigns (whose name is Apollo).

Kind regards,

How can you tell in a server if its the long lasting campaigns or the shorter missions?

Hi Vracan!

I have created again the community server guide on this very forum to help you and others find a suitable place to have fun.

Maybe this helps.

Big hugs!
