IL-2 Series – Korea Giveaway (Beta Milestone Celebration!)
image.png.85b208cd545ba100f686580b4ae0e3b5.png

Korea has officially reached its Beta milestone — and that’s a big moment worth celebrating.

To mark this major step forward for the IL-2 Series, I’m hosting a special Korea giveaway for the community. (Actually a second one! 🙂 )

Important:
This is NOT Beta access. This giveaway is simply to celebrate the milestone — it does not grant entry into the Beta.

How to Participate

  • You must not already own Korea.

  • You should genuinely want to play it and enjoy it.

  • Leave a comment answering the following:

What excites you the most about the changes in Korea compared to Great Battles?

Is it the leap into the jet age? The new combat dynamics? The setting? The evolution of systems and gameplay? What stands out to you the most?

Deadline & Winner Selection

  • The deadline to participate is Friday the 20th (this coming Friday).

  • I will use a random selection website to choose the winner.

  • The draw will take place on Friday the 20th — I’ll confirm the exact timing the day before.

The winner will need to provide their IL-2 account email so I can send the gift (only the winner will be contacted for this).

It’s exciting to see Korea reach this stage, and this feels like the perfect moment to give something back to the community.

Good luck to everyone!

Korea - Preorder version.

Hello, and thank you for this giveaway!

What excites you the most about the changes in Korea compared to Great Battles?

I'm really curious to see the new game engine in action. I'm also looking forward to discovering the Korean War theater, which is completely new to me, and especially to learning how to fly the aircraft of that era — particularly with the interactive cockpits!

Answer : The evolution of the game engine, the leap into the jet age, and the choice of a planeset and a coherent environment.

A combination of the jet-but-not-missile age and game engine improvements -- specifically foliage & anti aliasing options.... and the bigger/4 engine planes.

Hey! Thanks for the initiative!

I'm eager to see the new technologies that will be implemented, such as reflections, weather, impact damage, and all the other details that have been announced.

It's an era I'm not very familiar with, and I'm sure the story mode will offer a lot of information.

What .. I hope that excite me is .. hope for better complex behaviors of aircraft in reactions to atmospheric physics aka  heat.. cold.. turbulences of different kinds mechanical or even terrain etc..  This would change everything and excuse the sim for cockpits interactions.,,  It is important to understand that ANY aircraft under those conditions are a challenge and a fun to fly.. clean, dirty or damaged.. I am all for the experience of flight first..  Clouds are hugely important as well as effects with and with in  .. very important to have this going on the right direction and also the aircraft should not be balanced.. The pilots do all .. If many would see how some popular aircraft are actually superior to others... many would be angry on the west side but it's reality .. so to me realism is important..  So it is a lot about how the pilot is and I hope it will translate well. Props and jets .. got to love it.. I do a lot .   I love navigations, real airbases protocols and radios etc..  IL2 series always created some push in innovations.  lets hope and see the development ..  I am very excited for what is to come in the near future for all of us with Il2. I see we are all excited but something that is clear to me is that the Developers themselves are Il2's fan .. members .. They are passionate about what they do ..  Huge to me.

( Because of our passion we will create missions, photos and movies using IL2 :)  )

S! LuftManu,

What excites me the most with IL-2 Korea are the large bomber formations. I've often wondered what they would look like on a modern engine, and I cannot wait to scream up to high altitudes in my Mig to mingle with them.

Besides the graphical improvements, which are always welcome in this type of simulator, what I'm most looking forward to is the ability to have really big battles with a large number of aircraft.

What excites me the most is to hopefully see a new and bigger community, aswell as the new damage models that looked very good so far. Only joined the Il2 Community 2 years ago and missed the glory days in that regard. So I think this will be a nice thing to witness.
In terms of damage models im excited to see how much the wings and engine damage improved in terms of realism and how fun its gonna be trying to limp back aircraft with those new DMs.

What excites me the most is the era. I don't have enough time to learn all of the modern avionics in modern sims so I gravitate to WW2 or WW1 era settings. I did not have the time or energy to mod the original IL2 to fly in Korea, but now with this upcoming theater, I can finally relive the old Mig Alley days in VR. I absolutely cannot wait.

I want to see the new game engine in action, the new improvements for AI behavior and the possibilities in the new career mode. The early cold war is very interesting, jets but not missiles which is the sweet spot for me. I am really looking forward to it. Thanks for the giveaway and good luck to everyone!

I'm really excited just about a whole new environment which hasn't been in a combat flight sim for as long as I can remember. The mountainous peninsula of Korea will be quite the change from Europe. Paired that with jets to go tearing around in I think it will be a great time

How I'm gonna wait possibly years and years before you circle back to new ww2 setting games.

Greetings Luft
It's a sim i'm sure I'll really enjoy, not only for its historical background but also for the iconic aircraft used by each side, which bridged the gap between propellers and jet engines.
I'd like to have it not only to enjoy the game and fly it a lot, but also to recommend it to my squadmates and get the community in this part of the world (pilots from Costa Rica, Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, and Chile) interested and excited to get their hands on it.
I hope I can get it.
Sincerely

The new ground targets animation and physics is going to make ground strike missions in career super immersive and realistic, and as a side, the instrument panel/guage shaking effect is going to be insane in VR

I think for me the most exciting thing will be the jump from mostly prop aircraft to the dawn of the jet era especially with how people adapt to that fighting style. I think the plane set looks great and I cannot wait to see what additional planes come along to help fill out the Korea setting. The engine upgrades are also interesting as I look forward to seeing what improvements are made of the IL2:GB system. I think IL2: Korea will be a great addition to the combat flight sim community as it touches a conflict that not many other games have attempted to approach.

well, the promised land. In the past years thing have stepped up dramatically in the games world. take for example the GTA series, the Mafia series, and so on. Still, in this tiny community of flight combat/historical enthusiasts, there are still many true complains. About AI, about maps, about many things. So, maybe this will be the so desired leap forward that we all crave for. And for a while we'll find the lost kingdom of Il-2 Sturmovik, like the original one was on his days.

What excites me most about Korea compared to Great Battles is the transition into the jet era and how that fundamentally changes combat dynamics.

The move from prop-driven energy fighting to high-speed jet engagements opens up completely new tactical possibilities — especially in terms of energy management, vertical maneuvering, and decision timing. The idea of learning to master early jet characteristics, compressor behavior, high-speed stalls, and the shift in situational awareness at those speeds is incredibly exciting.

I’m also very interested in seeing how the evolution of the engine and systems will impact immersion and realism compared to Great Battles. Korea feels like a true generational step forward for the series.

Looking forward to experiencing that leap.

The obvious answer is the jets! This was the golden age of jet gunfighting and that in itself is very interesting.

im also looking forward to the AI improvements and the GUI improvements they have been showing off!

It's the insane melting pot of brand-new jet-era tech with old WW2 tactics and veterans. Insanely performing not-quite-mach-reaching planes with old guns and cannons, pilots trying really hard not to pass out with the insane G forces. Very early radars and maybe missiles. Also the posibilities of even bigger and more complex battles in the new engine.

Salut!

I really liked the fact that the developers chose the “Forgotten War,” which marked an intense technological transition.

The transition from piston-powered aircraft to jet fighters.

I’m also very interested in classic engagements such as the MiG-15 vs F-86 Sabre.

A conflict that has been far less explored in games.
