They do speak some weird made up language though 😉

Wonder if it will also be available with subtitles.

1CGS should do a collab with a Litvyak player model and with some skins.

I know that there is a female model, but is she modelled after her? She does look similar, so perhaps.

Saw the trailer and thought to post it here but it has been a while since I have been active on Il2 forums and seems there was a move over to a new forum server or something and I had to create a new account.

Long story short - be great to see this.  Doubt it will be in the cinemas here in FInland :classic_biggrin: but - I can wait to watch it at home and hopefully with some Subs.

I love a woman in uniform, and, well, if you add goggles, I am putty.

Leaving aside Catch's justified utmost RESPECT for uniforms and goggles attached to a pretty face, I found this streamed movie very good, with excellent combat scenes. It is NOT propagandistic, fact that I find great.

My question (for those knowledgeable) is: were there really Yak regiments powered by womens ? Or the "night witches" were the only ones?

Regarding the Litvyak movie, the cc subtitles in English work perfectly on the trailer. The question is, where can we find the movie?

Couldn't find it on torrents.

Any help?

the movie i found accidentally streamed in 2 parts on youtube is actually this:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26505281/

it is very good, as i've said

it's called Vozdukh = Vazduh (in romanian) = Air in english, but actually the english translation is the closest one, but not really exact

Vazduh / Vozdukh is not the actually air, but the space in which the air is. well, semantics.....

I watched this version...probably it is the same just in one piece. It starts in fourth minute.

The female fighter pilots were spread around "normal" regiments, i.e., there were no all-female fighter units. I think it was the same thing for day bomber pilots and crew.

Very modern/ahead of times ! The western countries did this in the late '90 only, if i'm not mistaking.

for ex , i know (trivia!) that the Royal Australian Navy are the only ones that  have mixed crews (boys and girls) on their submarines !! - starting only with the Collins class.

Not so, Royal Navy subs have had female crew members since 2014.

Please use translators, but here's a couple of pages about female regiments and 586th IAP specifically:

http://allaces.ru/sssr/struct/p/iap586.php

https://ava.org.ru/iap/586.htm

Those were originally female-only, then went to mixed due to losses

Thank you, Dmitry!

I am deeply impressed not only by this high quality movie, but mostly by this fact that women were active pilots shoulder to shoulder to man from those early times. Didn't know that. Very positively impressed. For example, in Romania in the '40 there were woman pilots, but only as a separate Flotilla and non combatants: their role was to transport the wounded from the front to the rear hospitals (the white Squadron they were called)

Will read those links, thank you very much: nowadays translation is soo super easy.
