ChewbaccaMalaka Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Hey friends. I have a VKB Gladiator NXT EVO HOTAS setup, the left stick as my throttle. When I booted the game up today, though, the game doesn't seem to be registering any of my mapping for that stick. When I'm in the main menu, the game is recognizing the left stick for all button mapping, but as soon as I drop into a mission the stick is unusable again. That left stick is working fine with all of my other flight sims, so it seems to be isolated to Il-2. Any thoughts? Quote
AndreiTomescu Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Yia sou! firsthand, be sure that all the GB directory and all subdirectories and files are NOT marked as read only. that you could try to rebind the command to that stick, during the mission, by pressing Esc and then...you know Quote

Did you create a new control-profile with custom name? (other than "default" or whatever the already existing one is named) Does it work if you start a flight and configure the controls again while ingame? For example if you created a profile named "VBK joystick" then you also need to select it before flight. Otherwise the game will use "default" profile. You can select it pre-flight in the same menu where you select loadout, fuel, tactical code etc. There is also some option to assign the new profile to all planes. Quote

I did some investigating and followed your advice; it ended up being a windows glitch. I had my xbox xontroller connected to my laptop when I booted the game up, and it must have read the controller as a third input device. I then shut the controller off as the game was still loading, but for some reason Windows was still registering it as connected. The game never stopped recognizing the controller as being active even when it was shut off. I had to reconnect the controller and disconnect if from my USB devices and the game started registering the flight stick again. Crazy it took days to figure that out, and restarting the laptop didn't reset the USB connections. Quote
