1C Game Studios LukeFF Posted January 16 1C Game Studios Posted January 16 Hey everyone! Today, we want to show you what is new with the airfields in Korea. IL2 Series. Enjoy! https://media.il2-korea.com/news/dd_57 23 2
Dash,Polder Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) Thank God, the sounds of crickets in here was insufferable getting this close to release. Looking forward to some late night launches to raid a target right at the crack of dawn. Airfield lighting is awesome. Edited January 16 by Dash,Polder 2
AEthelraedUnraed Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I was wondering; maybe someone knows the answer. What were the blackout regulations in Korea? 58 minutes ago, LukeFF said: This was not relevant during World War II, as airfields were marked at night by searchlights and bonfires. This is incorrect. Maybe on the Eastern Front, I don't know. But on the two Western Front maps, pretty much all major airfields had electrical runway lighting systems in place, and often even blind landing systems. With some limitations, it's even possible to implement in the IL2: GB engine: So except for an increased light count, not much different. Still, good to see that the night lighting system gets a major upgrade 🙂 3
=ReiSen= Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Если я правильно понял освещение населенных пунктов тоже будет?
JL1 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Looking like a major improvment over BOX and the night lighting is very nice! CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor GPU: RTX 5090 RAM: 96 Gb DDR5 SSD: WD Black 4TB SSD & WD Black 8TB SSD Monitor: LG 48-Inch OLED evo C4 Series Smart TV 4K HOTAS - Virpil
BlitzPig_EL Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Looking good. The undulating runways are going to be interesting.
LuftManu Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I love the MiG-15 in the sunset pic! The other ones are really cool! One of the things that also grabbed my attention is the terrain in and around the airfield. It seems more dynamic and lively than in GB. Great times head!
FTC_Oakwoodson77 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Can the developers confirm that this 'Dispathcer' will be voiced and deliver taxiing instructions and such to players as well? Or what was described in the devblog is purely an internal AI logic?
BlitzPig_EL Posted January 17 Posted January 17 It sounds to me like it's a built in logic controller for AI.
1C Game Studios LukeFF Posted January 17 Author 1C Game Studios Posted January 17 It's generally code running in the background, coordinating things.
FuriousMeow Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Lookin good, the clouds appear to be improved as well. Could just be from looking at the screens on my mobile though.
Edited January 18 by KOKSair
Aapje Posted January 18 Posted January 18 MSFS also has this. Could be a nice feature, also for the Pacific module(s) later on, because grass airfields do not always have a clear runway. 1

The player pressed a certain key and saw a virtual strip several meters high above the ground of green color from his location to the place of takeoff. Turn it on, look, if you remember, you can turn it off and steer. I would like to see such a feature in Korea as well. And yes, and in the Supreme Court too. After all of these years - this is the first time I've heard of this!!! 2
