I don't expect much as GB is winding down and 1C is focused on pastures anew. Maybe a WW1 channel and Italian map, floatplanes and a Bleriot penguin for training purposes.

r/WeirdWings - A Bleriot 'Penguin' ground training aircraft, With chopped wings to stop it from accidentally taking off.

You seem oddly familiar my dear sir!

I do suspect a Bristol Boxkite might be a little more useful as a trainer - but it does have its charms.

Isn't the Bristol Blenheim likely coming?

Nothing is likely in this world. We are all miracles.

Some of the Finish team members want to build one - that much is known. However, it would be a lot of work, they would have to find a modeller, the modeller would have to be able to create it in high enough fidelity, and fast enough, while likely working on it only part time... we can hope, but no more I'd say.

Neither of those has more engines than usual. We have tons of twin engine planes

I think it depends on what your usual is. We have two (or three) multi-engine transports. We have four twin-piston engined bombers. We have two Zesterors. We have two twin-jet aircraft.

So, about ten airframes, fourteen if we count variants ...but there are almost more Bf-109 variants than twin-engined aircraft (I think we have 11 Bf-109 variants?). Compare this to all of the single-engine fighters and attack aircraft - I think the twin-engine types might be something like 15 percent!

...so I think a twin engine aircraft would be 'more engines than usual'.

I'm open to that idea as an advanced trainer. However, the Penguin with its clipped wings was useful for pupils to get the feel of controlling a kite without leaving the ground. Roll cage optional. But of course we're both dreaming.

The below photograph illustrates an interested student soloing in a Boxkite over Stonehenge after it was crudely vandalised allegedly by hun spies in an attempt to degrade Britain's war effort and the general public's moral. Of course it failed and the stiff upper lip remained unmoved.

They did something similar with the I-16 - stripped the fabric off the wings so it could be used for taxy training. However, if I recall what I read correctly there was also an issue that - on hot days - if idling on the ground too long it could start dieseling... so the possibility of being stuck with the engine going flat out but no way to take off seems to have been a genuine possibility...

I'm rather keen on the forward view of the Boxkite... that is what the cockpit looks like:

Very low wing loading too (about half that of WWI aircraft - and also much lower than your Penguin there)!

Today… right?

They announced their "Winter Sale" yesterday. That's more than enough for this year! 😂

Mein Edit:

Also, gebt euch ein bisschen Mut. Vor anderen Sprachen habt ihr ja auch keine Angst.
