CzechTexan Posted January 11 Posted January 11 (edited) Are there any missions or campaigns for the Axis side on the Velikie Luki map? particularly Winter 1942-43. I've read some about the exploits of JG51 during the battle and it seems interesting enough to have a campaign for it. Did the FW-190s have winter camouflage there? found this on the old forum by @Jaegermeister: "FW 190 A3 of I/JG51 flying off the frozen surface of Lake Ivan defending againts Soviet fighters over the Rzhev - Vyazma front. This aircraft was part of the Stabschwarm of I/JG51 although I have not been able to identify the particular officer from these markings. sandmarken Posted January 11 Posted January 11 There is a campaign, yes, a very good one with custom voices and everything. It's one of my favorites. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/27131-veteranencampaign-jg51-over-velikie-luki/ 1 2 Quote
kraut1 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 (edited) I like this map! We have summer and winter and despite of the small size historical missions and campaigns can be created between July 41 to Jan.44. In my Luftwaffe40-45 campaign minimum 1 or 2 parts will be there... The attention to detail with all the small towns, complex rivers and others you do not necessarily see in the bigger maps! The history of "the little Stalingrad" is very interesting, and the smaller scale works well with the map. The JG51 campaign portrays it very well. 2 Quote
