Crockett Posted Friday at 04:43 AM Posted Friday at 04:43 AM Not sure where this should go, so move it if necessary! I've built a new computer and when I started IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles, none of my old campaigns are there! Also -- none of my scripted campaigns show any completed missions either, even though they should. I logged in with my e-mail address and password just like with my old computer! What can I do to get everything back? Quote
No_85_Gramps Posted Friday at 10:54 AM Posted Friday at 10:54 AM On the new PC did you do a new install, or did you just copy the IL2 files over from the old PC? Quote
Crockett Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago I just logged on to the IL-2 site! If I should copy files to my new computer, what files should I copy? From what folder? Quote

Il-2 is self-contained. You should be able to copy the entire game over. To be safe, rename the new installation folder (on the new PC), just in case. Then copy the game from the old PC to the new PC. Use the same folder name you had on the new PC before renaming it. Should be all you need to do and all the shortcuts should still work. Once you're happy with it, just delete the game you renamed. 1 Quote
No_85_Gramps Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago What dryheat94 said. Pretty easy to move the whole installation over. You may have to redo your inputs as the controller assignments probably have changed on the new PC. Quote
Crockett Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Not knowing where IL-2 is installed on my new computer, I looked at the various drives. My old computer ran out of space several times through it's life and I had installed several different drives -- a SSD being the one that IL-2 was installed on (K Drive). I installed all my old drives in my new computer build (so I wouldn't lose the data) as well as installing a new super duper bigger SSD as the main drive on my new computer. After finding IL-2 still being on K Drive, I assumed the game was running from that install. I'm not that all computer literate, which is likely why this happened but I now see IL-2 also installed on my main (bigger better SSD, C Drive). So I looked at the individual IL-2 folders on C Drive and on K Drive! The "Data" folder on my old K Drive is about 1 GB larger than on the new C Drive! Also the "Updates" folder is far larger on my old K Drive than on my new C Drive (about 50 GB bigger)! When I built the new computer, I also upgraded to a new VKB Joystick, Throttle and Rudders -- and I really had a lot of trouble getting my new VKB Rudders configured and don't want to chance going back to zero with them! So I don't want to have to redo the controller assignments! I assume the game is running from the C Drive and if that's so -- can I just copy the old "Updates" folder and the "Data" folder from the K Drive into my "Updates" folder and the "Data" folder on my C Drive without endangering my controller assignments or the configuration of my VKB controllers? You shouldn't need to copy the updates folder. Rename the data folder in your new installation, then copy over the one from the old pc. The data/input folder holds the bindings, so you could then copy them from the renamed folder. Once you're content it has worked as expected, you can delete the renamed one. Edit: all you really needed to do is copy the old game from your K drive to the new SSD, rebind your controls, and make a shortcut to the launcher.exe. No new installation was necessary. No_85_Gramps Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago At this point you could just transfer the campaign files over to the new PC and see what happens. Probably do the same for the missions and multiplayer folders. Quote
