Joy sticks and pedal's mapping and help. Whats the best direction

Good morning and Happy New year. I have IL2 Birds of Prey on a PS-3 and love it. I had 1946 on a high-end gaming PC and had not touched it for about 6 years. Question: I suck at mapping my hardware. I have the stick and pedals of a Thrustmeter and want to map it so it works well.  Wonder if anyone has the time to help me through this?
