It took me a long time to find the WW1 train mod. What a pain it is to not have a search function in the old Forum...

Download Of French Crewed Weapon Assignments For WW1 Train

This requires the previous mod to be enabled or it will throw a luascript error when the mission loads.

Very impressive for one (?) week of work!

Maybe we could get some WW2 Soviets and Germans too?

Sorry, hadn't had enough coffee lol. I should have put in a link. It is here in the new forum too under [MOD] AAA mod and mods relating to AAA - Mods and 3rd Party Apps - IL-2 Series Forum

 

The messages are for when the new units get damaged/destroyed. You should be able to just copy the message for the source unit and then adjust it to suit the new one's name. I still haven't found how to include the new units in the end of mission debriefing totals. eg sink one of the new ships and you get credit for the guns but not the ship under ships destroyed. If you figure out how I would be interested to know so I can add that feature to my mods.

If you have both sets of new Infantry Detachments installed (WW1 and WW2) you will want to use this version of the blacklist file instead of the one I included in the download above.

It's installed as DATA\GUI\EditorObjectsBlackList.cfg

These are created from the existing US Infantry (Aus and Rom) or UK (Frn) Squads, so unfortunately the helmets and equipment are not modelled properly. The French helmets have been reshaped into the Adrian style by masking edits in the alpha layer.

***The detachment sit and run versions are used for the AI in the game as the troopers get killed, but should not be selected in the STEditor.***

There are 5 new AI Artillery pieces provided with crews dressed in French uniforms (versus the original WW1 British crews).

All tested and working (Infantry,weapons, vehicles, train cars).

I will map these new units to the units / objectives defined in the EMG Generic Template.
So if possible please try to avoid changing the names of these units.

-Mission Generated with Easy Mission Generator (EMG) by Vander, modified for WW1 1917 Romania Missions

In the video some experiments are shown:
The Infantry units were added in the EMG Generic Template in Stronghold objectives (trench systems), tank columns (changed to some AAA trucks + 3 squads of infantry), armor objective (tanks replaced by infantry quads).
After the implementation in the EMG template the missions shown in the video were automaticly generated by EMG.
In the very last sequence you see a test Albatross DII strafing attack and I was wounded by the rifle fire of the Romanian / French infantry.

I wonder if I should reduce the specular value for the German crew served weapons and vehicles as well. Their skin looks pretty washed out.

EMG Mod Romania 1917 Status:
-Front Line and Frontline area defined
-planes selected and new skins by E69_julian57 selected
-Generic Template with alternative AI WW1 French / Romanian Troops by MajorMagee overworked
-Preliminary target objetives placed in template mission to generating / flying test missions of all missions types.
-6 Additional Improvised Airfields with smooth surfaces in Map Mod and in EMG created and tested
